GAMES TOMORROW
(Smart Araneta Coliseum)
4 p.m. – Chery Tiggo vs. Cignal
6:30 p.m.– Creamline vs. PLDT
FANCIED Creamline will bank on consistency and composure in the semifinals of the PVL On Tour, hoping to achieve its goals and remain a force to be reckoned with.
The Cool Smashers completed the semis cast, joining the Cignal HD Spikers, PLDT High Speed Hitters, and Chery Tiggo Crossovers, over the weekend after sweeping the Farm Fresh Foxies in the knockout quarterfinals 25-19, 25-19, 26-24.
Creamline will battle PLDT, still undefeated in the pre-season tournament, in the win-or-go home Final Four tomorrow at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in a highly-anticipated clash.
After the adversities they hurdled—losing two matches back in the preliminaries— Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses maintained the fortitude of the Cool Smashers as the keys.
“Actually iyong ano naman preparation, hindi ganoon ka-tagal pero sa tingin ko iyong mga labanan ngayon talagang no excuses na. Pero sa tingin ko, sa inilaro namin ngayon, except for the third set, talagang napaka-ganda,” Meneses said. “Siguro, iyong consistency lang talaga iyong kailangan namin trabahuhin sa situational game na semifinals kasi hindi puwedeng up and down iyong laro per set so dapat consistent talaga iyong laro and composure talaga.”
The champion tactician, who also called thee shots for the National University Lady Bulldogs, pointed out their mental toughness, which was tested over time, ahead of the duel against a PLDT side on a roll.
“Siyempre, iyong Creamline naman every game may pressure so siguro nandoon na lagi iyong mental toughness ng Creamline. Hindi naman kami tumitingin kung may talo o wala. Kami nga dalawang beses na natalo,” he said. Pero, sabi ko nga, iyong PLDT medyo talagang healthy din ang team nila ngayon especially with Kim Fajardo.”
