AFTER falling short in their bid to keep their crown in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, the Creamline Cool Smashers are moving on.

“Kailangan maka-move on agad, especially may AVC (Champions League) tournament kami. I think iyong mga players naman naka-recover naman agad. Talaga sigurong deserved talaga ng Petro Gazz iyong championship. Mas gusto nilang manalo,” Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses said two days after his charges’ bid for a five-feat was foiled by the Petro Gazz Angels in the finals.

“Iyong mga players hindi naman sila umayaw. Talagang iyong breaks and iyong game talagang sa Petro Gazz talaga.”

He refused to call it a “heartbreak” and gracefully accepted their defeat while giving kudos to Petro Gazz, led by head coach Koji Tsuzurabara.

“Hindi naman siya heartbreak. Talagang natalo lang kasi deserved talaga iyon ng Petro Gazz. Pero syempre sa mga next conference namin, magpre-prepare kami ng mas Mabuti,” Meneses said.

The multi-awarded coach, also the head tactician of the National University Lady Bulldogs, said nobody among the Cool Smashers shed a tear after their defeat and are now shifting their focus to the upcoming AVC Champions League.

The AVC Champions League will be held on April 20-27 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig with a total of 12 squads vying for two spots for the World Club Championships.

Creamline, Petro Gazz and the PLDT High Speed Hitters will be the Philippines’ representatives in the week-long continental competition.
