Cignal boosts roster for new season

WITH new faces primed to banner the Cignal HD Spikers in the coming PVL season, coach Shaq Delos Santos expressed excitement to work with their recruits and rookies in their bid to reach new heights.

Four new acquisitions and two incoming rookies are expected to boost the forthcoming bid of the HD Spikers in the PVL on Tour set to begin next week.

Cignal added opposite hitter Erika Santos, wing spikers Tin Tiamzon and Heather Guino-o, and middle blocker Ethan Arce to its arsenal.

“Mas excited kami mag-turo this time. Kasi, siyempre iyong mga ina-eye namin ng mga players, nakuha namin sa Cignal,” Delos Santos said. “Hopefully, marami kami ma-share sa kanila especially doon sa system na mayroon kami sa Cignal.

Rest assured na ina-ano namin talaga sila, i-improve sa lahat ng aspects on and off the court,” he added.

The HD Spikers also tabbed Erin Pangilinan as the No. 6 pick overall and 18th choice Jessa Ordiales in the rookie Draft.

Pangilinan was a solid middle blocker from National University while Ordiales saw action for La Salle.

“Sila talaga iyong ina-eye naming players. Luckily, napunta sila sa amin. We’re so happy na, siyempre malaking contribution silang dalawa para sa amin,” Delos Santos said.

“I’m sure inisip ng mga tao, parehas middle sila. Pero kaya nilang maglaro sa ibang position. So, hopefully mas ma-maximize namin sila.”

The PVL on Tour will kick off next week with the first stop in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
