STRIKERS and FIFA Women’s World Cup veterans Katrina Guillou and Isabella Flanigan will be back in harness for the Filipinas when they battle Chinese-Taipei today in the second round of the Asia Olympic women’s football tournament qualifiers at the Perth Rectangular Stadium in Australia.
Guillou and Flanigan, who missed competing in the last Hangzhou Asian Games, were among the 23 players called up by Australian coach Mark Torcaso for the tough four-team series that also includes host Australia and Iran.
Both will be at the forefront of the attack that also includes Chandler McDaniel and Sarina Bolden.
Olivia McDaniel will be manning between the goal and will be supported by Inna Palacios and Kiara Fontanilla as relievers while the defense is made up of co-skipper Hali Long, Alicia Barker, Dominique Randle, Jessika Cowart, Sofia Harrison and Eva Madarang.
Skipper Tahnai Annis will be back at the core of the midfield together with Sara Eggesvik, Meryl Serrano, Jessica Miclat, Natalie Oca, Isabella Pasion, Quinley Quezada, Jackyn Sawicki.
After the Taiwanese, the Filipinas take on the Matildas on Saturday before closing out their campaign against the Iranians on Nov. 1, with the group topnotcher advancing to the next round.
