OUT to scale new heights.
That’s what the UAAP intends to do when its 87th season–to be hosted by University of the Philippines–opens shop on Sept. 7.
“The UAAP is the country’s premier collegiate league,” UP Board of Managing Directors member Bo Perasol said. “Its popularity and success have grown exponentially through the years because it continues to grow, evolve and innovate.
“It has introduced new sports, expanded divisions within existing sports and finds new ways to reach out and connect with its ever-increasing audiences,” he added.
The curtains officially fell on the 86th season last Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay where University of Santo Tomas bagged an eighth straight collegiate and seventh straight high school general championship.
Perasol, also the Fighting Maroons’ Director of Athletics and Sports Development, bared next season’s theme–”Stronger, Better, Together.”
