NUCLEAR Bomb guns for the second jewel of the Triple Crown this Sunday, (Aug. 29) at the MetroTurf Race trackin Malvar, Batangas.
Owned by Gabriel Gaerlan and trained by Conrado Vicente, Nuclear Bomb easily won the initial leg last July 25, beating War Cannon over ,600 meters.
Set at 1,800 meters, this Sunday’s race will be another big test for son of Oh Oh Seven by Hayley Rebecca, who will be ridden anew by jockey Pabs Cabalejo.
Expected to give Nuclear Bomb a big challenge are War Cannon, Kevlar, Kaparkan Falls, Stay in the moment, and Hook On D Run, among others.
During the first leg at San the Lazaro Business and Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, Nuclear Bomb settled nicely a little bit off the mid pack while speedster Liquid Gold led early.
At around the half mile pole, War Cannontook over until Nuclear Bomb started to make his charge with 500 meters left in the race.At the 200-meter mark, it was clear that the fast-approaching Nuclear Bomb was not to be denied the win.
