TNT makes big gamble in EASL

WITH wins elusive and its back against the wall, TNT has tapped Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson to replace Quincy Miller and pair him up with younger brother Rondae.

The Tropang Giga are hoping their gamble would pay off when they take on the Taipei Fubon Braves tonight in a do-or-die due in the EASL Home and Away season at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

The match is set at 7 o’clock, with TNT seeking a breakthrough victory that will keep alive its hopes in the regional tilt.

Playing alongside his older sibling excites Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

“I’m just showing him (Rahlir) what he is going to have to do when he comes out here, be aggressive, be a team player, play really good defense, and be a leader,” Rondae Hollis-Jefferson said. “I’m just trying to show him when he steps in, that this is what we lead.

“This is really big. So, I appreciate (coach) Jolas and MVP (Manny V. Pangilinan) and all of those guys for allowing this to happen. Definitely, a dream come true for us,” he added.

The 6-foot-6 Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, four years older than Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who previously saw action in Europe, Canada, and the NBA G League, was tasked to take over from Miller and help the squad turn its 0-4 slate around.
