IN a battle between two champion teams, TNT walked the tightrope before getting the job done against Ginebra yesterday.
With gunner Almond Vosotros showing the way, the Triple Giga pulled off a thrilling 18-17 decision over the Kings in Leg 4 of the PBA 3×3 First Conference Season 3 at the Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati.
Vosotros made 4-of-8 shots to wind up with seven points for TNT, while Ping Exciminiano added five markers that put the Mau Belen-mentored quartet on top of Pool A alongside Meralco.
The Bolts earlier handed Ginebra a 19-15 loss as the winner of Legs 1 and 2 kissed its title bid goodbye with a 0-2 slate.
The Triple Giga denied the Kings a possible third straight Leg crown in the quarterfinals, scoring a 21-19 win seven days ago.
TNT, winner of last week’s leg, and the Bolts will clash for the top spot in their group.
San Miguel and Cavitex lost no time advancing into the next round, too.
The Beermen and Braves notched two wins each to share the top spot in Pool C and make it to the Last Eight.
The Beermen downed Purefoods 21-13 and Terrafirma 21-19, while the Braves edged the Dyip 18-16 and the Titans 19-18.
The squads are contesting the top spot in their group at press time, while the Titans and Dyip dispute the remaining playoffs berth in the same bracket.
Also with a 2-0 record is Wilcon Depot following victories over Blackwater 14-13, and Northport 18-14 to show the way in Pool B.
Pioneer (0-1), Blackwater (0-1), and Northport (1-1) are all still in contention for a place in the quarterfinals.
