Eala new PSC chairman

FORMER pro league commissioner Noli Eala has been appointed as the new chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission.

“We confirm the appointment of Mr. Noli Eala as chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission,” said Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles.

“President Marcos has continuously recognized sports victories early in his term, a testament to his commitment to sports,” Malacanang said in a statement on Eala’s appointment.

A former broadcaster, Eala served as PBA commissioner from 2003 to 2007. He also served as founding executive director of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

PSC Executive Director Atty. Guillermo Iroy said they have yet to receive a copy of Eala’s appointment, adding they expect it today, Wednesday.

Eala vowed to head the PSC that “will care for Philippine sports like no other.”
