CARRYING the colors of Manila, Miskha Sy swept her seven events to emerge as the Most Outstanding Swimmer in the girls’ secondary division of the National Capital Region Palaro swimming competitions over the weekend at the Muntilupa Aquatic Center.
A Grade 12 student at Chiang Kai Shek College, Sy scored a golden treble in the women’s 50, 100 and 200-meter backstroke with times of 32.37 seconds, 1:08.54 and 2:29.77, respectively.
She also ruled the women’s 200 butterfly (2:28.32) and 200 individual medley (2:29.54) and led Manila in the women’s 4×50-meter medley and 4×100-meter freestyle relays in the last day of the competition to complete her perfect record.
Quezon City’s Ivo Nikolai Enot was the Most Outstanding Swimmer in the boys’ secondary division with victories in the 50 back (27.60), 100 free (54.83), 100 back (59.72) and 200 free (2:01.58) events.
Sy and Enot are expected to spearhead NCR’s bid in the national Palarong Pambansa, which will formally make a comeback in July at the Marikina Sports Park after being mothballed for three years due to the pandemic.
