SAN Sebastian College recovered from two sets down to edge Jose Rizal University 26-24, 25-19, 32-30, 25-5, 15-11 yesterday for its second straight win and gained a share of second in the 97th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena.

JRU came off a 25-14, 25-23, 25-17 loss to Mapua University last Sunday and slipped to 2-2, tied with Lyceum.

In the first match, Letran held off Sa Beda University 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 15-9 for its first win.

Team captain Shereena Urmeneta scored 16 points, 12 from attacks, on top of two blocks and two service aces for the Lady Knights, while Julienne Castro and Daisy Melendres finished with 12 points apiece.

Chamberlaine Cunada contributed 11 markers as Letran atoned for a 25-14, 17-25, 25-11, 25-15 defeat to College of St. Benilde also last Sunday and improved to 1-3. — Abby Toralba
