AS he bids to become the first homegrown Filipino cager to gain NBA foothold, Kai Sotto wants to inspire the next generation to dream big.
“I use basketball as a tool to inspire the next generation to fulfill their dream and help others to share the love,” Sotto said in an article posted on the NBL’s website.
“That’s the biggest blessing I’ve had and I’m going to continue on doing that,” he added.
Out to prove he belongs in the National Basketball League of Australia by suiting up for Adelaide, the 7-foot-3 big man is grateful to all his supporters.
“Representing my country and representing my family’s name is an honor. It gives me all the strength to go all out on the court because I know my family is behind me and my whole country is behind me, supporting me,” Sotto said.
“I’m just very thankful and very blessed to have those people behind me, trying to push me to work even harder and help me reach my dreams. Just to have their support is a big thing for me.”
Sotto, 19, said he is living the dream.
