YUKA Saso displayed her finest form since returning to the Japanese LPGA tour, firing a 68 yesterday to wound up in an 11-way tie for ninth at the end of the rain-shortened Chukyo TV Bridgestone Ladies Open at the Chukyo Golf Club Ishino course in Aichi, Japan.
Saso seemed to have mastered the par-72, 6,486-yard layout by gunning down five birdies over the first 16 holes before bogeying No. 18 en route to a 36-hole tally of 140 following a 72 last Saturday. The first round was rained out.
The Filipino-Japanese went home with 781,772 yen (roughly P343,803) as she finished 11 strokes behind Japanese champion Inami Imone, who had 68-129 and won by four shots to pocketing the top pot of 9,450,000 yen (P4.1 million).
