STEVEN Rotter of the Philippines bagged the Best Opposite Spiker award anew in the SEA V.League men’s tournament that ended last Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.

The 6-foot-6 Fil-American hitter, who also won the award in the first leg of the event in Indonesia, finished the three-day meet with a total of 49 points — 17 against Thailand, 13 over Indonesia, and 19 against Vietnam.

Unfortunately, however, the Filipino spikers dropped all their three matches.

Halim Farhan of Indonesia shone as the Most Valuable Player of the second leg while Arabi Boy Arnes of Indonesia and Thai Thanomnoi Jakrit received the Best Outside Spiker awards.

Indonesian Hendra Kurniawan and Vietnam’s Truong The Khai were named as the Best Middle Blockers while Vietnamese Dinh Van Duy and Indonesian Prasojo Prasojo completed the individual awardees after seizing the Best Setter and Best Libero awards, respectively.

Indonesia emerged victorious anew while Vietnam settled for second and Thailand finished third.

Rotter, along with Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo, will lead the Filipino spikers returning to action in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September.
