WORLD record-breakers Mark Julius Rodelas and Kaizen dela Serna led the parade of winners over the weekend in the Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation Obstacle Racing 400 and 800-meter events held at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite.

Under a scorching mid-morning sun, Rodelas clocked three minutes and.0 32 seconds over 12 obstacle courses to narrowly win the men’s 400-meter event, edging runner-up Kevin Pascua (3:00.52), while Jay-r de Castro was third (3:07.50).

Dela Serna was also in a class of her own in ruling the women’s 400-meter race in 3:37.64, Milk Mae Tejares was a far second (3:39.64) and Precious Cabuya third (3:41.30) in the competition organized by the POSF.

“Medyo nakakapagod kasi mainit sa umaga ng finals,” noted Rodelas of the two-day event that drew nearly 150 entries. “Mas challenging pa rin yung 100-meter race pero masaya naman ito.”

Unlike when they were gunning for records, Dela Serna said her stint was more of a fun race “without too much pressure. We enjoyed it.”
