TOPEX Robinson once played and coached against La Salle. Now, he gets the chance to call the shots for the Green Archers in the UAAP.
La Salle yesterday named Robinson as its new tactician vice Derrick Pumaren in its bid to regain lost glory.
“First, I’m a now-thinker, I don’t look at what the past was and whatever it was. I’m more focused on what I have control of and that’s now,” Robinson said.
“I don’t ever have control of the future so what I have control of is how I’m going to make the players that I serve be in a position to succeed,” he added.
Robinson, 48, described his appointment at the helm of the Archers as a “dream come true” after leaving Phoenix in the PBA last week.
“I’m so grateful and honored to be in this situation. I myself growing up was a fan of La Salle basketball. Never have I imagined that this dream would come into fruition. It’s an honor and a privilege,” he said.
