HERE’S good news for the fans of defending UAAP champion La Salle: Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao insisted for the nth time he is playing his final year with the Green Archers.
“After countless days and weeks of praying and weighing on what’s best for me and my family, spending time in God’s Word is the only way to grow closer to Him,” Quiambao said on his social media account last Wednesday night.
“I’ve decided to fulfill my promise for DLSU and (the) Lasallian Community. To God be the Glory. Animo,” he added.
The 6-foot-7 prized big man’s announcement put to rest nagging rumors of a possible overseas move after he was not included in La Salle’s squad in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
A former Nazareth School of National University standout and a sought-after Gilas Pilipinas national team training pool member, Quiambao has received invitations to suit up in the Japan B.League or Korean Basketball League.
He also proved his worth for Strong Group in the Dubai International Basketball Championship last January.
