THE mandatory title fight between reigning World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero and top-ranked English contender Paul Butler will go to a purse bid hearing, the WBO announced last Monday (late Tuesday in Manila), boxingscene.com writer Jake Donovan reported.
Last Sept. 22, the WBO gave the handlers of both boxers 20 days to negotiate the title clash but issued a new directive after Lee Eaton of MTK Global, which promotes Butler, requested the Puerto Rico-based ring body for a purse bid hearing. — Bong Pedralvez
