THE Philippine Olympic Committee Executive Board is scheduled to meet today to approve the revised tripartite agreement that will enable the Philippine Sports Commission to release funds for the operations of the 30th Southeast Asian Games barely three months from now.
Led by POC secretary general Atty. Edwin Gastanes, lawyers from the POC and PSC and the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee made some amendments to the agreement so the release of P6 billion funds would comply with government’s audit rules and policies.
All three parties earlier agreed that the financial support for the running of the SEA Games would be coursed through the POC, which set up a task force headed by Gastanes to oversee the disbursements.
The POC Executive Board is expected to meet after a coordination meeting with the PSC and PHISGOC early in the morning requested by PSC chairman Butch Ramirez, who is also the chief of mission of the national contingent to the SEA Games, at the Philippines International Convention Center in Pasay City.
