TOP volleyball teams from different regions will vie for the crown in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation’s Champions League next month.
The PNVF will stage its second edition of the Champions League, a tourney backed by the Philippines Sports Commission, from Nov. 5 to 12 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
PNVF Secretary General Don Caringal said in the Philippines Sportswriters Association online forum yesterday that some of the LGUs are interested in participating in the tourney featuring action in the men’s and women’s divisions.
He said teams from Naga, Bulacan, Santa Rosa, Quezon City, Baguio City, Ilocos, Imus, Nueva Ecija, Valenzuela, Tacloban, Aklan, Negros Occidental, Mandaue, and Zamboanga have expressed interest to join the men’s tournament alongside Philippine Navy, Cignal and Manila.
Squads from Naga, Bulacan, Apayao, Imus, Cavite, Bacolod, Manila, Davao and California Precision Sports are eyeing to take part in the women’s competition.
In the inaugural Champions League last year, F2 Logistics bagged the women’s title while Team Dasma Monarchs took home the men’s crown.
