PLDT pulled off a 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16 victory over also-ran Choco Mucho yesterday to clinch the third seed in the semifinals of the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Mean Mendrez led the High Speed Hitters with 21 points, while skipper Mika Reyes delivered 18 markers.
Dell Palomata fired 12 points, Jovy Prado had 12 markers, 13 digs and 10 excellent receptions and Michelle Morente added 10 hits for PLDT.
“Lesson sa amin iyon, medyo iyong slow start naming, naging off-on sa elims so iyon kailangan matuto sila doon sa mistakes na kung kaya naman kontrolin iyong game, kontrolin talaga dapat,” High Speed Hitters coach Rald Ricafort said.
“Kasi iyong mga ganyan mahirap kalaro dahil iyon nga no pressure, no bearing, so iyon, kailangan matuto,” he added.
PLDT finished the eliminations with a 6-2 mark, while the Flying Titans ended their All-Filipino stint with a 2-6 record.
