THE chase for PVL Invitational Conference crown continues as the semifinals kick off today, starting with a showdown pitting PLDT and Army Black Mamba at The Arena in San Juan.
The No. 2 High Speed Hitters and the fourth-ranked Lady Troopers square off in the single-rounds semis at 2 p.m.
PLDT finished the elims with a 4-2 record, while Army ended with a 3-3 card.
The High Speed Hitters are coming off a 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22 win over undermanned Cignal last Saturday.
“Iyon sa amin, iyon naman ang goal namin. Every conference kailangan, nag-si-step up kami so this time nakuha namin iyong goal pero siyempre hindi pa tapos ang laban. Nag-uumpisa pa lang,” PLDT coach George Pascua said.
“Siyempre malaking (bagay), malaking morale sa mga players kasi before iyong chemistry namin dahil bago palang medyo hindi pa ganoon ka-stable then iyong proseso paunti-unti naa-achieve namin kaya itong conference na ito medyo less nalang iyong adjustment,” he added.
