PLDT has bolstered its line-up ahead of the PVL Invitational Conference by acquiring power-hitting spiker Royce Tubino.
The High Speed Hitters’ acquisition of Tubino, formerly of Army, came several days after they parted ways with veteran setter Wendy Semana and opposite hitter Ysa Jimenez.
“More fire, more power. Just what we need. Veteran outside hitter Royse Tubino joins the High Speed Hitters for the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference! Welcome to the PLDT fam, Royse! Let’s Go!” PLDT announced on social media yesterday.
Tubino has been one of the aces of the Lady Troopers for several years and will surely boost the High Speed Hitters.
Army will skip this season’s Invitationals due to military training but is expected to return in the season-ending Reinforced Conference.
In last year’s Invitationals, the High Speed Hitters powered their way to the semifinals but eventually fell short, losing to the Cignal HD Spikers in their battle for the bronze.
Tubino, 30, will join forces with Mika Reyes, Dell Palomata, Rhea Dimaculangan, Kath Arado, and Jules Samonte.
