SAVI Davison exploded with 19 points and led PLDT to a 25-22, 25-6, 25-9 rout of Galeries Tower to launch its drive on a rousing note yesterday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Davison, a Fil-Canadian spiker, sizzled with 19 points for the High Speed Hitters, including 16 successful attacks, while Jules Samonte backed her up with 15 markers, including four aces.
In the second game, Choco Mucho completed the fancied teams’ romps in the first two playdates, blasting Nxled 25-12, 25-22, 25-18 to join Petro Gazz, Chery Tiggo and PLDT at the helm.
Reigning MVP Sisi Rondina displayed her dazzling skills with a remarkable 17-point performance, delivering thundering hits from both wings and the backrow. One highlight was a powerful hit that ended a lengthy exchange in the third set, extending the team’s lead to 16-10.
Davison later expressed enthusiasm for the team’s prospects in the season-opening conference, especially with the addition of former F2 Logistics players Kim Fajardo and Major Baron, who delivered 11 excellent sets and two points, and four points, respectively.
