FIVE-TIME Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Lee Van Corteza leads three other Filipinos scheduled to see action today (Tuesday night in the US) in the $250,000 Predator World 10-Ball Championship at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Corteza was set to clash with compatriot Roberto Gomez in the opening round of the five-day, two-stage tournament offering a top prize of $60,000 (roughly P3.3 million) to the champion.
An elite field of 128 players has been invited to see action in the blue-ribbon competition.
Also competing are Roland Garcia and 2006 Doha Asian Games silver medalist Jeffrey de Luna, who were to take on Austria’s Max Lechner and Hong Kong’s Bu Hong, respectively, in the first stage, a race-to-8, double-round eliminations.
