THE Philippine men’s volleyball team breezed past Macau 25-15, 25-16, 25-17 yesterday in the classification phase of the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Men at the Taipei gym.
Marck Espejo, Rex Intal, Ryan Ka shone for the national team that will move on to the 9-10th place battle in the classification round.
The Filipino spikers also drubbed Macau 25-21, 25-15, 25-14, last Sunday in their group phase tiff.
The Philippine team of coach Sergio Veloso battles Mongolia in the next stage today at the same venue.
In their first duel in the preliminaries, the Philippines nipped Mongolia 22-25, 25-21, 26-24, 23-25, 15-12.
The Philippine team failed to advance to the top 6 after losing in the Final 12 to Bahrain 20-25, 17-25, 23-25 two days ago.
