THE Philippine national women’s volleyball team is set to toughen up against a Chinese squad ahead of its campaign in the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup in August.

“We have a Chinese team that will play in th AVC Cup that will come to Manila,” Philippine National Volleyball Federation President Ramon “Tats” Suzara said last Friday in a press launch of lighting giant Akari as the volley body’s new backer for the women’s team.

“They will stay here for a month, and they’ll have a regular scrimmage with our team,” he added.
