Perpetual, CSB part ways today

DEFENDING champion College of St. Benilde and Perpetual Help will test each other’s mettle today for the solo lead in the 98th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex.

The game is set at 2 p.m., with both squads seeking a key win to rise to 4-0.

CSB and Perpetual share the lead at 3-0 with Lyceum.

The Taft-based Lady Blazers notched their third straight win after blanking San Beda University 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 last Saturday.

CSB will bank on Jade Gentapa, Gayle Pascual, Cristy Ondangan, Jessa Dorog, Michelle Gamit and skipper Cloanne Mondonedo.

Perpetual kept its mark unscathed three days ago by edging Arellano University 22-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-19.

The Lady Altas will rely on Shaila Omipon, Winnie Bedana, team captain Razel Aldea, Jhasmine Sapin, Janine Padua, and Mary Rose Dapol.

In the first game, Emilio Aguinaldo College (0-2) battles Letran (1-1) at noon.

The Lady Generals absorbed a 17-25, 20-25, 8-25 loss to the Lady Blazers last Wednesday.

The Lady Knights suffered their first defeat last Friday after falling short against Mapua University 19-25, 16-25, 25-14, 26-24, 14-16.
