ALL 12 teams in the PVL will have their peace of mind from “player poaching,” the league having set a minimum of three years of draft rights to their selected picks.

Twenty-three players were chosen in the inaugural Draft last Monday, with middle blocker Thea Gagate being named as the No. 1 pick overall.

As the league seeks to keep its ethics and equity intact, PVL president Ricky Palou said the drafted players are tied up with their respective squads for a minimum of three years, keeping away persuasion and offers from the other squads.

“If the teams that drafted them want the players tapos hindi sila nagkasundo, the players don’t become free agents. As long as the team complies with the rules that we set, that we put in place, the players that they drafted will still belong to them,” Palou said. “If after one-year wala pa rin, the draft rights will belong to them for at least three years.
