SMILE360BULLIES emerged as the new kings of the halfcourt as they ruled the World Balance 3×3 Streetball League Season 2 on Saturday at Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City.
The Paranaque-based squad bested Bren Sports in a closely contested championship game 21-19 to complete its unbeaten run and come away with the P250,000 cash prize.
Magnificent all tournament long, Geoffrey Santos was named as the Most Valuable Player as he took home P5,000 worth of World Balance gift certificates.
He was joined in the Mythical Team by his Smile360Bullies teammate Don Marlon Querido, Bren Sports’ John Dave Villas and Ryan Ricasio, and Angelo Barabab of Sports Flooring Global Kings.
Scottie Thompson, World Balance ambassadors Nards Pinto and Paolo Taha, and World Balance chairman Armando “Ahan” Chong graced the event as eight of the top teams from the 22-team field played their hearts out in the finale.
Bren Sports, who finished second, won P15,000 worth of prizes, after giving their all in the finale.
“World Balance is happy to see how good this Season 2 is and you can see it with the level of play that the teams showed from the prelims to the finals. This only excites World Balance to continue its endeavor to support Filipinos through sports,” said Mary Lyn Go, World Balance marketing and creatives director.
“We promised bigger and better, and our players and teams delivered. We can’t wait to grow this event more for Season 3.”
