THE country’s six athletes competing in the Tokyo Paralympic Games with leave with extra motivation and boosted psyche.
Philippine Sports Commission Chairman ButchRamirez yesterday announced that each of the athletes, their coaches, and accompanying officials will receive P100,000 in additional allowance, hiking to P150,000 their total allowance for the Aug. 24-Sept. 5 Games.
Ramirez also asked chief of mission Francis Diaz to encourage his colleagues at the University of the Philippines to prepare the athletes mentally and psychologically, stressing this aspect was a proven formula for the country’s success in the recent Tokyo Olympics.
Ramirez told the para athletes to “enjoy your game” while in Tokyo.
“Kung nag-e-enjoy ka, mas maganda ang pulsomo,” Ramirez told the PSC’s online People Sports Conversations that was participated in by the para athletes, Diaz, and their coaches.
