THE PBA Board and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas lauded SBP Chairman Emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan and San Miguel Corp. President and CEO Ramon S. Ang for their unqualified support for Gilas Pilipinas’ historic triumph in the recent 19th Asian Games.

Pro league chairman Ricky Vargas and SBP president Al S. Panlilio said the two business magnates’ support to the national team’s campaign in Hangzhou, China and “whose individual and combined passions for the upliftment of Philippine basketball” motivated the team to never say die.

The recognition came after the landmark championship achieved by Gilas Pilipinas in the Asiad where it captured the basketball gold for the first time after 61 long years.
