THIS early, Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is already looking at big men that the team can tap in the PBA draft set on Sept. 17.

“We’re looking at size. Siguro iyong the best talent available with the best size. Iyon ang priority namin sa (first round) picks namin,” Guiao said.

“If we can blend those talents with what we already have malamang mabibigyan namin ng magandang laban iyong mga established teams,” he added.

The Elasto Painters have the No. 3 and No. 4 selections in the annual rookie proceedings.

Only veteran centers Beau Belga and Jewel Ponferada, along with young slotman Leonard Santillan, are the big men of the Painters.

Terrafirma owns the top overall pick while Blackwater, like the Dyip and Elasto Painters, has the rights to the No. 2 overall choice.

The likes of Justine Baltazar, Brandon Bates, Keith Datu, Luis Villegas and Kemark Carino are among the top big men in this year’s class.

Christian Bunag, Kevin Villafranca, Darwish Bederi, JBoy Gob and Henry Galinato are also high on the list of teams but their intention will only be known when the pro league starts accepting draft applications on July 17.

Picking anew at No. 15 and No. 24 overall, Guiao also intends to address his squad’s other problem — lack of big guards.
