RUNNING is about to expand some more next year.

Singlife Philippines, in partnership with Runrio, is launching the Singlife Philippine Marathon Majors, a premier running series that brings together eight world-class races across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

“We really want to encourage a lot of Filipino people to have a healthy lifestyle through running. At the same time, we’re providing a platform and opportunity for our national athletes by staging these kinds of events. We want local runners to travel across the country and also attract international runners to join,” said Rio de la Cruz, Runrio President and CEO.

“Running is more than a sport. It’s discipline, preparation and a lifestyle,” said Lester Cruz, Singlife Philippines CEO. “Being part of the Philippine Marathon Majors allows us to champion the health, resilience, and aspirations of every runner—no matter where they are in the country—while also sparking important conversations around financial independence.”

Singlife will also serve as the title sponsor for five of the eight races, namely, the Iloilo Marathon on April 12, the Cebu International Marathon on July 12, the Davao Marahon on August 15, the One Clark International Marathon on September 20, and the Cagayan de Oro Marathon on December 13, with SM Supermalls serving as presentor and is supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Completing the race roster are the Ayala Philippine Marathon 2026 on February 22, the Galaxy Manila Marathon on June 7, and the Trilogy Run Asia National Finals on November 8, making this the country’s most extensive marathon circuit to date.

All marathon routes are certified by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), ensuring that Filipino runners experience globally recognized standards of competition. The series is also sanctioned by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).

The top performers will be rewarded with P100,000, P50,000 for second, P30,000 for third, P20,000 for fourth, and P10,000 for fifth.

A brand new car will also be raffled off to the participants in each of the races.

Finishers of the Singlife Philippine Marathon Majors will also receive a unique medal, one to commemorate every marathon they finish, which could be accomplished in more than one year.

“It’s a commitment, so you can finish all eight majors maybe in two to three years, or even five. We’re in it for the long haul,” said de la Cruz.
