OVERSEAS-BASED swimmers Gian Christopher Santos and Adrian Philip Eichler head the lean but mean four-man national squad that will compete in the 22nd World Aquatic Championships that began over the weekend at the new World Aquatics Championships Arena in Singapore.
Philippine Aquatics Inc. executive director Anthony Reyes said that also vying in the meet are female divers Rose Ocmer and Arianna Hanna Drake, with PAI president Michael Angelo Vargas and secretary general Eric Buhain joining the contingent.
Ocmer and Drake were set to compete on July 26, while Fil-Am Santos and Fil-German Eichler would plunge into action two days later.
Top Fil-Canadian swimmer Kayla Sanchez has decided to skip the worlds and focus her preparations for her debut in the 33rd Thailand Southeast Asian Games in December, according to Reyes.
