TITLE favorite Lyceum is fast proving it has what it takes.
After the first three matches, the Pirates gained a share of the early lead in Season 1 of the Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE), the country’s newest Esports league.
Lyceum, which ruled the exhibition CCE Varsity Cup last year, downed Mapua University, Arellano University, and College of St. Benilde for a 3-0 card in the first season of CCE backed by the Commission on Higher Education.
The Pirates were joined on top by San Sebastian College, which rose to the occasion as the other unbeaten team after turning back Perpetual Help, Jose Rizal University, and Letran.
Gold laner Remarch Eusebio (lust?) and jungler Mark Kenneth Delos Reyes (Mark) shone for the Pirates, taking turns in bagging MVP honors as Lyceum barely broke a sweat in a fast start for its bid to follow up its Varsity Cup crown.
Delos Reyes unleashed a monstrous Balmond in a rematch against Mapua, which finished runner-up in the Varsity Cup, in Day 1 with a perfect 5/0/3 (KDA) line as the Pirates went on to win in only 13 minutes of play. — Michael Jugado
