COLLEGIATE Center for Esports (CCE) continues to champion the innovative sport in the academe as it recently received honorable distinction from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The organization was hailed with the Sports Leadership Award during the 2nd National Annual Tertiary Sports Leaders Congress at Hive Hotel and Convention Place in Quezon City.

“Receiving this award is a prestigious moment for the esports sector. It’s an excellent platform to demonstrate how esports can foster exemplary leadership,” said CCE president Stanley Lao.

Lao accepted the honor from CHED chairman Prospero de Vera during the congress which was attended by numerous regional and athletic directors as they discussed the future of sports development in the tertiary level under the theme “Elevating Sports Excellence: Chartering the Future of Sports Leadership.”

It’s a landmark achievement for the CCE which has been at the forefront of the esports revolution in the universities and colleges for the past three years especially as the country waded through the COVID-19 pandemic.

And this year is no different, with CCE, in partnership with Converge ICT, looking to once again stage Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitions throughout the year.

Registration for University Clash: The Original has already started last April 30 and will last until May 23 and is open to all collegiate teams, while the Collegiate Center Championship (CCC) and the Philippine Collegiate Championship (PCC) are slated for later this year.
