BEGINNING this August, the Philippine Sports Commission will start implementing the PSC board-approved P5,000 added monthly stipend for athletes and coaches in the national pool using a new attendance process to make it easier and efficient for all National Sports Associations concerned.

“The Philippine Sports Commission is pleased to announce the approval of an across-the-board increase in the monthly allowances of coaches under the National Training Pool effective August 2025 (covering the period July 1 to 31, 2025), and continuing thereafter,” the memo issued by PSC officer-in-charge and executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy Jr. on Tuesday said.

“In addition, effective August 2025, the submission of Daily Time Record individually signed by athletes and coaches as well as the Comprehensive Activity Report, shall no longer be required,” it said.

In place of this system, “NSAs are now required to submit the newly-adapted Monthly Training Attendance Certification… duly signed by either the NSA President or Secretary General and notarized, and shall serve as the basis for the qualified members of the NTP to receive their allowance for the particular month.”

It was implied in the advisory that the new process will apply not only to the national coaches and athletes for the able-bodied in the NTP, but also be used for  national para athletes and coaches.

“The updated process aims to enhance efficiency, streamline administrative requirements, while maintaining accountability in the disbursement of government support,” the memo explained.

This new attendance process also aims to “ease the administrative burden of our national athletes and coaches, allowing them to focus more fully on their training and preparation (for both local and international competitions).”

“A separate advisory providing the detailed guidelines on the implementation of this updated process and the official template (pro forma) of the Monthly Training Attendance Certification will be issued shortly,” the memo said.
