NOT content on sitting on its laurels in successfully promoting and nurturing the dynamic discipline for the last five years, the Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation has lined up an ambitious and hectic schedule for its national athletes this year and beyond.
Highlighting the POSF sports calendar is a world record attempt in the men’s and women’s 100-meter obstacle course race on April 9 and 10 at the ArcoVia City course in Pasig that will be certified by World Obstacle and the Guinness Book of World Records.
Leading the entries are 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalists Kevin Jeffrey Pascua and Rochelle Suarez, who will also bid to break their own world marks of 29.92 and 49.70 seconds, respectively, which they set when ruled their events three years ago.
“We have set 28 seconds and 48 seconds, respectively, as the marks to be broken,” said POSF President Atty. Al Agra yesterday in a press conference at the Rizal Park Hotel.
