NATIONAL University-Nazareth School whipped Far Eastern University-Diliman 25-15, 25-18 yesterday in the knockout quarterfinals of the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League at the San Andres Sports Complex.
Yesha Noceja topscored for the Lady Bullpups with 12 points, 10 from attacks, one block and a service ace, while Celine Marsh added 10 markers.
“Semis na kami. Pero mayroon pa kaming kulang. Hindi pa fluid especially kapag second set. Kapag first set medyo okay pero pag second, may hinahanap pa kami,” NUNS coach Vilet Ponce-De Leon said.
“Ito na sa semis, iyong ine-expect namin every time iyong mga teams sa semis, alam namin pahirap na nang pahirap iyong mga kalaban,” she added.
The Lady Bullpups, last season’s UAAP girls’ volleyball champions, showcased their might, sweeping Pool A preliminaries with a 3-0 mark.
NUNS will battle the winner between California Academy and Adamson University on Saturday, May 27.
Lovely Lopez was the lone bright spot for the Lady Baby Tamaraws with eight points, while Shiela Pascual and Clarisse Loresco combined for eight markers.
In the second quarterfinals match, Bacolod Tay Tung High School snatched the second semis spot at the expense of University of Santo Tomas 25-22, 25-23.
