NATIONAL University and La Salle square off in a winner-take-all title match today for the Shakey’s Super League title at the Rizal Sports Coliseum.
Game time is 4:30 p.m., with the Lady Bulldogs, the reigning UAAP champions, trying to get one anew against the Lady Spikers and add a pre-season diadem to their laurels.
University of Santo Tomas faces Adamson University in the battle for the bronze medal at 2 o’clock.
The Sampaloc-based squad scored a 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17 victory over the Golden Tigresses seven days ago in the semifinals.
Ace spikers Mhicaela Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Princess Robles, Camilla Lamina, Sheena Toring and Jen Nierva are expected to lead the way for NU.
La Salle nipped the Lady Falcons 25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-8 in their semis duel.
The Lady Spikers will bank on Thea Gagate, Angel Canino, Alleiah Malaluan, Marionne Alba, Fifi Sharma, Baby Jyne Soreno and Justine Jazareno.
Back in June, the Lady Bulldogs ended a 65-year title drought in the UAAP volley wars via a sweep of La Salle in the finals.
“I’m very excited again to face NU and of course we will work hard para bumawi narin sa kanila,” Gagate said.
In classification matches, FEU takes on Perpetual Help at 9 a.m., while University of the Philippines collides with Ateneo at 11:30.
