NATIONAL University-Archipelago launches its title-retention bid today in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference today when it tackles newcomer Vanguard Volleyball Team at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Both squads will start their campaign at 6 p.m., following the clash between Philippine Air Force and D’ Navigators Iloilo at 4 o’clock.
Unlike last year when they bagged the crown, the Builders will be without some of their key players as National U is also preparing for the coming UAAP volleyball tilt.
Joseph Bello, Jan Abanilla, John Estrada, Ahmad Abdul, Edgar Floresca, Mac Bandola, Zulrich Gonzales, Michael Hernandez, Joelbert Doromal, Bryan Jaleco, Leo Ordiales, Marco Maclang, Kharylle Parce and Rwenzmel Taguibolos are now tasked to hold the fort for NU-Archipelago.
Vanguard Volleyball will field a slew of veteran spikers.
Bannering the Vanguard Volleyball in its debut are John Diwa, Ruvince Arbot, Ricardo Alfaro, John Desuyo, Julito Almazon, Clark Fernandez, Jerome Andrade, Pazzel Palisoc, Amiel Obay, Joven Camaganakan, Ronchette Villegas, Richard Tolentino, Jonathan Sorio and Romeo Tedones.
Philippine Air Force returns in the league against D’ Navigators Iloilo.
Air Force last played in the league back in 2019 when it finished runners-up in both the Open and Reinforced Conferences.
Ranran Abdilla, Edwin Tolentino, Jessie Lopez, Ruben Inaudito, Ralph Calasin will carry the flight for the Air Spikers.
Iloilo will lean on Jade Disquitado, Mfena Gwaza, Rick Adao, John Apolinario, and Renz Engay.
