DEFENDING champion National University takes on University of Santo Tomas today, with the winner gaining the inside track in the battle for the second twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four of the 85th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The two squads break their tie for second at 9-3 at 11 a.m., with both teams armed with big wins in their last games.
The Lady Bulldogs will go into the match boosted by a 25-5, 25-15, 25-13 win over the University of the East Lady Warriors last Saturday while the Golden Tigresses completed the Final Four cast after overpowering the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws 26-24, 22-25, 25-16, 25-23 last Sunday.
“Parehas kami ng NU na gustong manalo. Kung mananalo kami, ang taas ng percentage na kami ang makakakuha ng No. 2 spot,” said UST coach Kungfu Reyes.
