GILAS Pilipinas absorbed a heartrending 18-20 loss to a taller China quartet in their battle for the bronze last Sunday night in the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza in Singapore.
Shooter Almond Vosotros knotted the match at 15-all with a two-pointer with 2:16 left but the Chinese retaliated with a 4-1 run that made it 20-16, only 40 ticks left.
The nationals pulled to within 18-20 on a Lervin Flores deuce but Vosotros missed a two-point try that could have forced overtime at the buzzer.
