AFTER successfully staging its 97th season that ended last month, the NCAA is set to kick off its new season on Sept. 10 in a semi-bubble.

Emilio Aguinaldo College Vice President for Administration Dr. Lorenzo Lorenzo accepted the hosting rights last July 25 on behalf of their school from College of Saint Benilde.

“With the leadership of Br. Dodo (Fernandez) and Dax Castellano, we were able to experience a Stronger Together NCAA Season 97,” Lorenzo said.

“We look forward to a healthier, safer, and more exciting NCAA Season 98,” he added.

The league is preparing for bigger venues while still implementing COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

The NCAA’s new season will also be under a semi-bubble set-up for the student-athletes, unlike last season which was conducted in full bubble.

Last May, Letran annexed its second straight title via a perfect season.

Knights star Rhenz Abando was named Rookie-MVP, while Jeo Ambohot, now proving his worth with Converge in the PBA, bagged the finals MVP plum.

In women’s volleyball, College of St. Benilde also posted a season sweep after dethroning Arellano University.

Lady Blazers skipper Mycah Go was named season MVP, while Gayle Pascual was adjudged finals MVP.
