PGJC-Navy outdueled VNS-One Alicia 25-20, 25-19 25-21 yesterday to move within a win of third in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena.

Joeven Dela Vega sparkled with 14 points and seven digs for the Sealions, while skipper Greg Dolor and Joshua Umandal contributed eight and seven markers, respectively.

Setter EJ Casana also tossed 20 excellent sets for Navy.

“Masaya na at least nakapagpahinga rin iyong players namin coming from the loss, at least ngayon bumawi sila, bumalik sa winning and hopefully makuha na namin sa Saturday,” Sealions coach Cecille Cruzada said.

After Navy took the opening frame, the Griffins fought back from a 15-23 deficit in the second set, but Omar Lioc shut the door on the Griffins.

In the third set, Navy held its ground behind Jemmy Entig and Dolor.
