THE country’s best local cyclists, along with a few top riders in Asia, clashed for glory in the 7-Eleven Trail last Sunday, cruising to the exhilarating trails and curbside turns of the newly unveiled Timberland Mountain Bike Park in San Mateo, Rizal.
In this year’s annual event which began to hit the mountain pavements back in 2014, the cycling event featured a competitive race of 40-km single track, cross-country mountain bike race.
With over 1,000 participants, mountain bike cyclists displayed grit in the trails and drop courses where Emmanuel Dave Montemayor reigned supreme.
Montemayor ruled the contest with a gun time of an hour, 42 minutes and seven seconds and took home the P25,000 cash prize.
Mark Lowel Valderama wound up second with 1:43:14 time and bagged P15,000 prize, while Dave Rhoa settled for third after clocking :43:34 and received P10,000.
In the women’s 40-km overall ranking, Eusebia Nicole Quinones emerged as champion with a gun time of 2:15:14.
Shagne Yao finished second with a close 2:15:17 time, while Adel Pia Sendrijas ended third with a 2:15:45 mark.
