TOUCHED by the love and support he is getting from the government, sports associations and Pinoy fans, Asian Games silver medalist Eumir Marcial is more determined than ever to go for the gold in the Paris Olympics next year.

The Zamboanga-native, who also won a bronze medal in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, shared center stage with President Marcos Jr. last Wednesday night at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum during the “Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat para sa Bayaning Atletang Pilipino.”

Marcial, 27, stressed that he intends to give it his all next year as the country bids to end its elusive search for a boxing gold.

Marcial, along with other medalists in the Hangzhou Asian Games, received a Presidential citation and cash incentives from the Office of the President and the Philippine Sports Commission.

He received a total of P2 million in incentives — P1 million from the PSC and P1 million from the OP.

He said the cash rewards given to the athletes will definitely help their families.
