WHAT’s in store for the coming PBA 48th season and a rising Filipino boxer will be tackled in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum today, Tuesday, at the conference hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Commissioner Willie Marcial will be on hand to answer questions about the league’s 2023-24 season set to start on Oct. 15 as well as other activities leading to the season, including the rookie draft, pre-season fun run and Media Day, and Gilas’ participation in the FIBA World Cup and Asian Games, among others.
Boxing legend and promoter Gerry Penalosa graces the weekly session together with undefeated bantamweight contender Carl Jammes Martin and father-trainer Abel Martin to talk about the next step in the career of the 24-year-old fighter from Lagawe, Ifugao.
The public sports program session starts at 10 a.m. with San Miguel Corp., Philippine Sports Commission, Milo, Philippine Olympic Committee, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. as major backers.
