MAPUA University seeks a third straight win when it clashes with Letran today in the 99th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Cardinals and the Lady Knights clash at 10 a.m., followed by the duel pitting Perpetual Help and San Sebastian College at 2 p.m.
Now that the league is halfway through the eliminations, Mapua and Letran are expected to follow the right track and rack up more wins with the former carrying a 3-2 card and sporting a 4-1 mark.
Last Tuesday, the Lady Cardinals blasted the Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 behind Roxie Dela Cruz and Raissa Ricablanca.
Letran is out to recover from an 18-25 21-25 19-25 loss to reigning two-time champion College of St. Benilde.
Gia Maquilang, Nizelle Martin and skipper Lara Silva will be counted upon to deliver by the Lady Knights.
Perpetual escaped past San Beda University 20-25, 25-13, 22-25, 25-17, 15-6 and improved to 3-2 three days ago.
The Lady Altas will bank on Shaila Omipon, Mary Rhose Dapol, and Winnie Bedana.
The Lady Stags absorbed their fifth consecutive defeat at the hands of the Arellano University Lady Chiefs 17-25 28-26 25-22 23-25 12-15 last Sunday.
San Sebastian will rely on Kath Santos, Kristine Dionisio and Tina Marasigan.
